Rock the Shot May 2013 Photo Contest

This is one of those families you just can't HELP but love. I always enjoy photographing them because they are willing to do all kinds of poses: well, like this one! This has very little editing done. We just caught the light at the right time.

Happy Easter...

Easter is a special holiday for me. I love that we remember our Lord's ultimate sacrifice. I know that this family shares that sentiment so if was fun to spend some time on this day with them. The Bumbo chair gave this sweet little 5 month old some independence for pictures and I now think I need to get one for future sessions with the smaller kiddos! We had fun following a two year old around on this beautiful day in between storms. This has been a CRAZY Colorado Spring so I feel blessed to have caught some of the best days with very little schedule changes.

What would Easter be without a few M&M's?

Ha! This little guy told me he was pretty much done with one expression. Love that face!

Wedding Bells!

I must say, this was a first for me! An OUTDOOR wedding in March in Colorado! I was actually second shooter for this day and Christina Lear from Clear Image Photography was kind to allow me to display my work. I realize it is May but I wanted to wait to blog this day until the couple received all of their pictures from both photographers. Weddings are often a whole weekend affair and the result is often thousands of pictures to wade through. Editing can take many months so that the best is given. This VERY fun couple braved the snow for an engagement session with Christiana but had a gorgeous sunny day to tie the knot. As second camera I provided back up and different angles so here are just a few of my perspective. Congrats to Chris and Lindsey once again, you picked the BEST month in Colorado to get married this year so far.

Man's Best Friend...

Pets are a favorite subject for me as a photographer. I enjoy them as much as kiddos, maybe because they too have their own personality and I love the challenge of capturing a piece of that. When I started out in the photography industry I practiced by taking hundreds of pictures of our cats and dogs and trips of the Mountain to find the wildlife. It was a pleasure going back to my roots with this session.

Meet Oscar

Meet Bailey

The PUGS!

Meet Jessie

Meet Buddy. I had the privilege of photographing this little guy prior to this day. He is an older but special boy!

A family United...

We met on a cool but nice day in a location unique to this family. It was so fun to let the kids play with the horses and gather eggs and enjoy the time at grandma and grandpa's house. I enjoyed this session for all those reasons but especially because the sweet kids were so fun to follow around and capture as they explored. And what fun that the cousins are so close in age. I grew up with cousins close in age to me and they were built in friends and hold some of my most cherished memories from childhood. I hope that for this wonderful family.
